Client Focused Media is excited to announce the opening of the new Heekin Clinic – owned and operated by our client, Dr. R. David Heekin.
The surgical and research facility opened on Jan. 5, 2015 and is Dr. Heekin’s second here in Jacksonville. The northeast Florida doctor left his original practice of fourteen years to refocus his work back onto the needs and experiences of his patients. The new clinic is located on the campus of St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Riverside.
Something that remains unchanged, though, is Dr. Heekin’s dedication to specializing in total joint replacement of the hip and knee. Since 2013, he has preformed more hip and knee replacement surgeries than any other doctor in the state of Florida. Dr. Heekin is also both the founder and Medical Director of Jacksonville’s Orthopedic Center for Excellence at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Before ever donning his first set of scrubs, the Jacksonville native was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of eagle, and attended Bishop Kenny High School, graduating in 1972. Four years later, he graduated from West Point and remained in service as an army doctor for thirteen years. Dr. Heekin most notably served as the Chief of Total Joint Replacement Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. from 1994 to 1997.
In 2001, Heekin returned to Jacksonville with his wife, Claire, and their three children, serving this community ever since.
