Client Focused Media (CFM) works with many area schools and their internship programs to employ several interns throughout the year. Interns are here to assist and learn from CFM and BUZZ employees. CFM expects interns to act and perform as employees. CFM is always searching for potential employees. Often when positions become available, we select from present and past interns that showed initiative, excellence in job performance, and good work ethic before looking to outside hires. Dress for interns is business casual. Interns must attend a mandatory orientation before they begin work at CFM.

Internship duration typically coincides with the respective school’s program (generally 3 months).
A minimum of 15 hours per week is required. Most positions are unpaid. Job duties vary by department and will be explained on an individual basis. Interns report to one supervisor who assigns projects and evaluates work. Although we are flexible with work and school schedules, set times and days of the week are required so projects can be planned accordingly.

Although positions are unpaid, Client Focused Media maintains a strong intern-to-hire program. When a position becomes available, we select from our present and past interns before we open interviewing up to external sources. We also offer perks including free tickets to local events and concerts.

Design.

Graphic Design Intern-Paid and Unpaid.
Client Focused Media is currently interviewing Design and Web Interns. Interns will be working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer or Web Director. Job duties include, but are not limited to, working in print, press publication and Web design. Students will learn first hand about the work environment of professional designers at an Advertising agency. Web and/or multimedia experience is preferred, but not required. Design Internship will be heavily weighted towards publication layout design. Internship duties will involve designing everything from Web banners to Folio and BUZZ ads. We provide clients with identity systems, direct mail pieces, marketing campaigns, Web sites, etc. You will have more design freedom than in many agencies and many of your pieces may be used, published and printed to help strengthen your portfolio.

We are flexible with scheduling around school and work. Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must submit resume and portfolio for review. Intern must have their own laptop with programs to use in office.

Marketing and Sales

Marketing/Sales Intern- Paid and Part-time.
Client Focused Media is a full service marketing and advertising agency. CFM brings on interns every semester and offers them an opportunity to compete for a full time position through hard work and dedication. At Client Focused Media, our internship program will allow students to gain experience and understanding towards the career path he/she wishes to take. His/Her duties will include:

• Participating in brainstorming sessions
• Assisting account managers on meetings with clients
• Assisting in client needs analysis meetings
• Assisting with the creation of marketing strategies for CFM’s current clients
• Promotional work for off site events for CFM clients

Each of our interns dedicate between 15-35 hours per week based on each student’s schedule. The internship position is an opportunity for the student to see the daily functions of an advertising agency and gain the knowledge of each person’s duties within the company.

What We Require:

  • You must receive college credit for your internship.
  • Junior and Senior status highly preferred, but other standings will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Background in Marketing, Communication, non-profit management or other related discipline.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office. Must know Microsoft Excel.
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
  • Creative and Flexible.
  • Familiarity with social media sites.

Public Relations and Journalism

Public Relations/Journalism Intern- Unpaid.
Client Focused Media is in search of quality PR interns who are looking to get real world, hands on experience. We are in search of a few good interns who are interested in the following aspects of PR and Journalism:

• Interviewing Bar, Restaurant and Business Owners, as well as people of interest
• Taking photos every where they go
• Attending local events (for free) to write reviews for our Web site and magazine
• Attending company promotions
• Writing company press releases
• Researching and writing articles and feature stories
• This internship will be hands on and will be heavy in communication and writing.

Our focus is on marketing, advertising, public relations and promotions. Your responsibility will be to oversee daily operations of iwantabuzz.com. Keep the website updated. Contact business owners to update their information. Gather information and write a weekly newsletter. Research contact information of business owners that want to be in the program. Coordinate promotions. Research companies for holiday parties. Participate in brainstorming sessions. Assist account managers with clients. Assist in client needs analysis. Promotional work for off site events for CFM clients. Excellent communication skills and self-motivation required.
